Once upon a time there was a canvas... - Giufe

Once upon a time there was a canvas…

The GiuFè are born from pieces of paintings painted with mixed media, shreds of canvas inlaid with silver threads

The canvases become unique jewels with GiuFè

All creations are born with a soul, in fact the idea is to have artists, disabled children and/or associations that help women in difficulty interact in the various phases of the creative process to create together an artistic emotion with a big supportive heart. A constantly growing art project, which through experimentation, manipulation, assembly and painting has created a new form of art. Which combines teaching, art and luxury in exclusive creations with an unmistakable style. Art becomes the fulcrum for overcoming physical and mental barriers, breaking down all forms of limits.

"GiuFè: Wearable art, unique in the world."
1
Painted canvas
Each jewel begins as an original work of art on canvas, painted with passion and dedication. The vibrant colours and evocative shapes become the starting point for a magical process of transformation. The perforated canvas, the matrix of the jewel, has a life of its own and is exhibited in art galleries in Italy and around the world
2
Precise cuts and carefully created holes
Through targeted cuts and careful holes, the canvas is shaped precisely. The cut does not simply represent an action of subtraction, but rather a process that gives new vitality to the piece which, transformed, becomes a work of art.
3
The magic of inlay:
Perfect union. Experimentation with new materials ensures that the perfect synthesis between painting and jewelery is achieved, using the painted canvases as a canvas on which to graft precious elements. Every single piece is studied down to the smallest detail and made exclusively by hand with pearls, crystals and stones that embellish the initial fragment of canvas. Silver and canvas chase each other resulting in irregular, sometimes eccentric designs with unusual shades.
4
From canvas to unique and fascinating jewels
The jewels are created with a riot of ever-changing colours, they are all unique and patented pieces, handcrafted, subverting the rigid rules of technical perfection by favoring creativity and Italian design. Authentic masterpieces of art destined to acquire value over time.

GiuFè

Giusy Ferrara was born in Alcamo, her passion led her to follow courses at the Artistic High School of Trapani where she graduated in Graphics, she attended the Academy of Fine Arts where she graduated with top marks in Scenography. She moved to Florence and studied at the Palazzo Spinelli Institute, Advertising and Editorial Graphics course. She began working in an artisan silver workshop in Scandicci where her passion for jewelery was born. She collaborates with some graphics and design studios in Florence, but the call of her homeland is very strong so she decides to return to Sicily where she enters the world of lower secondary school as a teacher and acquires the title of support teacher multipurpose. In 2009 she created the GiuFè brand and acquired the patent to create GiuFè jewels that are unique in the world in terms of use of material and workmanship. Giusy connects her passions and manages to combine teaching, art and luxury in exclusive creations with an unmistakable style. Her artistic vocation thus revealed new horizons to her and she began to experiment by creating creative and motivational paths aimed at disabled students or women victims of violence, supporting schools or valuable associations such as Skenè, Kiwanis, Rotary, in particular Palmavitae of which Giusy is a member and supporter. This association works to help women in difficulty or victims of violence by creating courses that involve the use of recycled or new materials using skills and talent so as to make art the fulcrum for overcoming physical and mental barriers, making all participants protagonists and breaking down all forms of limits. All this leads her to create unique, precious art objects with a supportive heart.
